Neck Pain

Cervical Trauma

Neck pain can have many different causes from the stretch and strain of muscle tissue to irritation of nerve roots. It can be more localized to one side or rather diffuse and sometimes into the back of the head, the base of the neck, or even into the upper back. A thorough history and evaluation can differentiate between Cervical Sprain/Strain, Disc Pathologies, Joint Dysfunction, Myofascial Tightness, and various other conditions. Once identified, the Doctor will develop a plan catered to your individual needs that typically involves chiropractic manipulation therapy along with soft tissue manipulation. Many of our patients experience great relief within just a few visits; however, every condition and patient alike demand a unique, specific approach and the Doctor will be able to walk you through this process along the way.

Back Pain

Thoracic and Lumbar Trauma

Back pain can be localized to the low back, mid back, or upper back. It can also affect multiple regions at one time and even radiate into the Sacro-iliac, hip, and gluteal regions. The root source of the symptoms is key to understanding their manifestations; as numerous conditions can contribute to them. An in-depth history and evaluation will allow us to differentiate between several causes such as Facet Syndrome, Thoracic and/or Lumbar Sprain/Strain, Disc Pathologies (herniations/bulges), and Joint Dysfunction to name a few. With this crucial information we can construct a treatment plan catered to your individual condition that results in the most effective healing and recovery. In addition to traditional chiropractic manipulative therapy, we are also equipped with specialized tables that can preform both Flexion/Distraction as well as Pelvic Drop (gravity assisted) adjustments.

Headaches

Tension, Migraine, and Others

Headaches come in all shapes and sizes from Migraines with and without aura to Tension and Cluster Headaches. Musculature in the neck, base of the skull, and temporal region can become tight and restricted, forming trigger points that can play a large role in the development and perpetuation of various types of headaches. A thorough history and evaluation will allow the clinician to rule out any serious pathologies, and determine whether chiropractic care will be appropriate for your case. Since there are numerous causes of headaches, it is important to determine the root origin prior to treatment. If clinically indicated, the chiropractor can refer the patient for radiographic study to further determine diagnosis. Frequently care is warranted and gentle soft tissue muscle work combined with a specific chiropractic adjustment provides our patients with extraordinary relief. There have been several clinical cases of chronic, recurring headaches dissipating following just one-to-two treatments, and significant sustained relief after that. The results are even more astounding for acute tension-type headaches.

Sciatica

A complex of symptoms rather than a diagnosis, sciatica can include: numbness, tingling, and shooting pain through the leg that reverberates through the toes

Sciatica refers to pain that travels down one or more legs. It can spread from the buttocks, to the back of the thigh, and even all the way down to the ankle, foot, and toes. Many people describe this pain as sharp, shooting, tingling, and/or numbing. The key to treating this symptom is determining its specific origin or cause. It can be associated with irritation of the nerves roots that unite to form the sciatic nerve from a disc injury. It can also be associated with myofascial tightness and restriction as a result of poor biomechanics. This may include issues in other areas along the body’s kinetic chain. Several tests, along with a thorough history, can differentiate between the various diagnoses and provide insight to the treating Doctor in developing a plan specialized to your individual case.

Scoliosis

Oblique Spinal Curvature

Scoliosis is a condition in which there is a lateral curvature within the spine. It is most common in the thoracic and lumbar regions and can vary greatly in severity. As a result, altered biomechanics can have a dramatic impact on the rest of the spine and body both above and below the dysfunction. This can lead to increased muscle tightness, ache, stiffness, nerve compression, disc issues and even headaches among others. In most cases, if you have not had any recently, upon evaluation the Doctor will refer you for x-rays of the spine to further assess the severity of the curvature and develop the most effective treatment plan for you.
