Educational Videos for Further Information
Below are several videos from our YouTube page, sharing our thoughts and information around several key areas where we have helped our patients find solutions and optimal body health.
What is TMJ?
So many people suffer from TMJ dysfunction and don’t realize there may be an effective treatment available for them if you treat the source of the dysfunction. This video discusses what that commonly is and what the TMJ actually consists of and the structures that can affect it. When you understand it a little bit more then you can be empowered to know that as long as it is musculoskeletal, and most cases that present to us are, you can often heal it.
What are Trigger points?
Trigger points can be responsible for much pain that people experience. Common conditions affected by these are headaches, TMJ pain, and fibromyalgia. People are often familiar with these conditions, but what exactly is a trigger point? Well, we feel it’s important to answer that question for everyone to fully understand these conditions and the pain that can occur throughout your body. That is our aim in this video.
Explaining Muscles, Joints, and Scar Tissue
The musculoskeletal system is a very big part of your health and quality of life. It’s so important to know the different parts of it from the bones and joints to the muscles and ligaments to fascia and adhesions or scar tissue! Understanding how these all work together is the key to taking control over your health and the optimal functioning of this amazing system. This video shows examples of these structures so you can better understand your bodies and the nature of injuries within them. Have you ever wondered how the joints in your spine affect the muscles and where those “knots” in your muscles come from? This will explain that here.
Injuries that “come out of nowhere”
Often times patients say that their injuries and pain seem to come “out of nowhere”. This video explains why this can happen and how our bodies work to creat this effect, and what you can do to help yourself and prevent an injury from worsening to the point of pain.
What is Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis is a very common musculoskeletal condition that can limit your mobility and ability to walk comfortably. In addition to limiting your function and the pain it generates locally, it can lead to other injuries and conditions to the rest of your body if left untreated. We see patients at our Williamsville office from all over Western NY who come in with foot pain, and this condition is a common culprit. With an examination from an experienced doctor, it can be diagnosed and then treated and resolved to restore you back to optimal health and allow you to move on with your life. This video explains plantar fasciitis and the what is occurring locally as well as effects it can have on the rest of your musculoskeletal system.
Spraining a ligament
To fully understand the musculoskeletal system and injuries that commonly occur throughout it, it helps to understand the ligaments and what they are as they are part of the musculoskeletal system as well. A sprain is a common injury that occurs in a ligament. This video gives a general and easy to understand description of what ligaments are and comprehensively explains how common injuries occur throughout these structures and how we can help to heal them.
What is the Musculoskeletal System?
What is the musculoskeletal system? We’re on a mission to educate you on why your musculoskeletal system is so important. In fact, healing, caring for, and optimizing this system may just be the secret to your quality of life and the key to physically thriving in this world. This includes your bones, your joints, your muscles, ligaments, fascia (what is fascia!?), scar tissue (not just after surgery or cuts, but inside your body and affecting these structures every day!). If you understand this system and the ability to heal it from injury and beyond that, to function optimally, then you empower yourself to live a healthier life. In many cases, patients who discover this knowledge are able to get their lives back and take control of their body and the way that they feel. And by treating this entire system as a whole and all of these structures together, if you have a musculoskeletal injury, there’s a great chance we can fix it.
